Dog Teaches Faith

Christians can learn to grow in faith from interactions with their dogs

The Master pulls me from danger to safety.

Cody loves to wander around. Even though we are walking a straight line, he swerves to the left, then to the right, smells something to the left, then rushes back to be back in his place, to the left of the master.

Though he has a sense of direction, he does not see the cars coming from a distance when walking through roadways where pedestrians share the road with drivers. It may merely be his height that prevents him from seeing as far. The master has to pull Cody back at times and get him to move quickly at other times.

I learned that there could be times when life is not pleasant, but because the Master, who can see much further than me, loves me and protects me, I may need to be pulled back or rushed along to get to safety. That pull is the Master’s hand of protection and goodness over our lives.

Hebrews 12:6
For the LORD disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.”
